브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 한국마사회가 국민이 체감하는 건전한 경마 문화를 조성하기 위해 ‘제5기 국민참여모니터링단’을 모집한다.
국민참여모니터링단은 최근 급속도로 확산되고 있는 불법 경마로부터 국민 피해를 최소화 하고 건전 경마를 활성화하기 위한 불법 경마 단속 전문 채널이다. 지난해 불법 경마 사이트 신고 2153건 및 불법 경마 홍보물 신고 1만2491건 등을 기록하며 불법 경마 확산 방지에 크게 기여했다.
접수 기간은 오는 25일까지로, 건전 경마 활성화에 관심있는 만 19세 이상의 국민이라면 누구나 지원할 수 있다. 총 30명의 단원을 선발할 예정으로 선발된 국민참여모니터링단은 내달 소정의 교육을 거친 뒤 불법 사이트·홍보물 신고 및 건전경마 아이디어 건의 등의 활동을 전개해 나갈 예정이다.
접수 방법은 ‘2025 한국마사회 국민참여모니터링단 모집’ 포스터 우측 하단에 있는 QR코드를 통해 접수할 수 있다. 자세한 사항은 한국마사회 홈페이지 공지사항을 통해 확인할 수 있다.
한국마사회는 동종 산업 최고 수준의 불법 단속 노하우를 결집해 ‘2025년 불법경마 대응계획’을 수립, 추진해 나갈 계획이다. 3대 추진 전략으로 △불법경마 감시 및 단속체계 고도화 △불법경마 예방 및 국민 참여 활성화 △유관기관 협력체계 및 단속 전문역량 강화를 선정했다.
이를 위해 올해 1월 ‘사이버단속부’를 신설하고 IT인력을 확충했으며, 국내외 불법경마 사이트 탐지 AI모델 성능 개선 및 한국인터넷진흥원과의 협업을 통한 AWCS(Auto Warning Call System, 불법경마 영업용 전화 차단시스템) 차단 강도 강화 등 단속의 실효성을 확보해 나갈 계획이다.
한국마사회 송대영 경마본부장은 “온라인 불법 경마를 예방하기 위해 국민참여모니터링단 지원에 적극적인 관심과 참여를 부탁한다”며 “한국마사회는 국민 피해를 예방하기 위해 경마시행체로서 권한과 책임 범위 안에서 불법경마 근절을 위한 최대한의 노력을 다할 것이다”고 말했다.
