[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 올해 가야문화축제는 가야문화축제제전위원회와 김해문화관광재단이 공동 주관해 개최한다.
두 기관은 17일 김해문화의전당에서 ‘2025 가야문화축제 공동주관에 관한 업무협약’을 체결하고 성공 개최에 힘을 모으기로 했다.
60년 넘게 축제를 이끌어온 제전위원회의 축적된 경험과 지난해 빛 축제 등으로 젊은 감각을 인정받은 문화관광재단의 트렌디한 전문성이 더해져 가야문화축제의 완성도를 한 단계 높일 수 있을 것으로 기대를 모은다.
이날 협약식에는 주영길 가야문화축제제전위원장과 최석철 김해문화관광재단 대표이사, 배선영 김해시 문화관광국장 등이 참석했다.
‘시민이 만드는 축제’를 지향점으로 기획, 부스, 봉사, 홍보 4개 분과 67명의 위원으로 구성된 가야문화축제제전위원회는 지난해까지 45회에 걸쳐 축제를 이끌어오며 김해의 역사적 가치를 널리 알리고 전통을 보존하는 데 힘썼다.
김해문화관광재단은 김해문화유산야행, 허왕후신행길축제 등 단독 주관하는 축제와 함께 지난해 분청도자기축제에 이어 가야문화축제도 공동주관으로 참여하며 시를 대표하는 문화관광 전문기관으로서 그 입지를 점차 넓혀가고 있다.
주영길 위원장은 “올해 햇수로 63년째를 맞이하는 가야문화축제는 명실상부한 김해의 대표축제로 자리잡았다”며 “빠르게 변하는 시대 흐름에 맞춰 축제도 변화가 필요한 만큼 젊은 감각의 전문성을 지닌 문화관광재단과 함께 시의 역사와 미래를 모두 담아낼 수 있는 축제로 발전할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
최석철 대표이사는 “섣부른 변화보다는 기존 프로그램에 젊은 아이디어를 보태 ‘가야’를 현대화하고 대중화하는데 역할을 다하겠다”며 “손뼉도 마주쳐야 소리가 난다는 말이 있듯이 두 기관이 더 자주 만나 소통하며 ‘짝’ 소리 나는 축제가 될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
배선영 문화관광국장은 “올해는 시군통합 30주년과 더불어 대전환의 시작, 글로컬시티로의 도약을 시작하는 뜻깊은 해로 무엇보다 모두의 하나된 힘이 절실하다”며 “가야문화축제가 시민 화합을 이끌어내는 기폭제로서 역할을 충실히 수행할 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편 올해 축제는 4월 10일부터 13일까지 4일간 수릉원, 수로왕릉, 대성동고분군, 가야의거리 일대에서 개최된다.
