이 시스템은 태풍이나 집중호우 등으로 인해 지하차도 내부에 물이 15cm 이상 차오를 경우, 경보음과 함께 차량의 진입을 자동으로 차단하는 기능을 갖추고 있다.
진주시는 이번 자동차단시스템 구축를 위해 4억7000만원의 예산을 투입해 오는 3월 중 준공을 목표로 진행한다.
이번 시스템 설치를 위한 공사기간은 오는 24일부터 26일까지, 오는 3월 17일부터 19일까지 총 6일간 진행된다.
시는 공사 기간 오전 9시부터 오후 5시까지는 도로의 부분 통제가 이루어지며, 차량 운전자들에게 우회도로 이용을 당부하고 있다.
