브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자 ‘QLED TV’가 글로벌 인증 기관인 SGS(Société Générale de Surveillance)로부터 ‘무(無) 카드뮴’ 퀀텀닷 기술 우수성을 인증받았다.
삼성전자는 QLED TV에 들어가는 ‘퀀텀닷 필름’에 대해 카드뮴 미검출 및 유해물질 제한지침(RoHS) 기준 준수 인증을 획득했다고 12일 밝혔다.
스위스 제네바에 본사를 둔 SGS는 전자 제품, 식품, 환경 등 다양한 산업 분야에서 엄격한 품질 및 안전 기준을 제공하는 세계적인 시험·인증 기관이다.
삼성전자는 이번 테스트를 통해 ‘퀀텀닷 필름’의 ‘무(無) 카드뮴’ 기술의 우수성을 공식적으로 입증했으며, 유럽연합(EU)의 유해물질 제한지침(RoHS)을 충족해 시청 환경의 안전성도 인정받았다.
삼성전자는 2001년부터 퀀텀닷 기술 연구를 시작해 지속적인 개발 투자를 통해 글로벌 디스플레이 시장의 혁신을 주도했다.
