<March 31, 2025. Los Angeles> — The film Flame of April, based on the true events of South Korea’s March 15 fraudulent election and the April 19 Revolution of 1960, which ignited the country's democratic movement, opened on March 27th in theaters nationwide in Korea.
Flame of April is an emotional docudrama centered on the democratization movement that began in Masan, depicting the love, resistance, and sacrifice of the youth involved. The film directly addresses the story of martyr Kim Ju-yeol, who was killed while protesting the fraudulent election, and his family, faithfully recreating one of the most tragic moments in modern Korean history on screen.
