충남 예산군이 지난 1일 예산종합병원 내 소아청소년과를 개설하고 진료를 시작했다고 2일 밝혔다.
이날 개소식에는 최재구 예산군수를 비롯해 군의회 관계자, 병원 이사진 및 의료진 등이 참석했으며, 진료 운영 계획 발표, 테이프 커팅식, 소아청소년과 시설 순회 등의 순서로 진행됐다.
이번 소아청소년과 개설은 필수 의료 서비스 강화를 위한 군의 적극적인 지원과 의지가 반영된 결과다. 군은 지역 내 소아 진료 필요성이 지속적으로 제기됨에 따라 소아청소년과 운영을 위해 연간 3억 원(군비 2억 1,000만 원, 병원 부담 9,000만 원)의 예산을 지원한다.
예산종합병원은 내과, 응급의료, 이비인후과 등과의 연계 진료를 통해 군민에게 보다 종합적이고 체계적인 의료 서비스를 제공하며, 전국적으로 소아청소년과 전문의가 부족한 상황에서도 다행히 전문의 채용이 가능해짐에 따라 4월부터 본격적인 진료가 가능하게 됐다.
