앞서 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 지난 2일(현지 시간) 백악관 로즈가든에서 발표한 한국의 상호관세율은 25%였다. 그러나 트럼프 대통령이 발표한 이후 백악관이 공개한 행정명령 부속서에서는 한국에 대한 관세율이 26%로 적혀 있어 혼선을 빚은 바 있다.
비록 관세율이 1%p 차이지만 전체 대미 수출량을 감안했을 때 엄청난 금액 차이가 발생한다.
백악관은 트럼프 대통령의 발표 때 적시된 관세율과 행정명령 부속서 상의 관세율을 놓고 “행정명령 부속서로 가야 한다”는 입장을 보여, 관세율은 26%로 확정되는 듯 했다.
