[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 경남진주혁신도시 복합혁신센터에서 ‘2025년 전통시장 서포터즈 사업’ 발대식을 열고, 본격적인 사업 추진에 나섰다고 10일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 전통시장 내 안전문화 정착과 함께 노인일자리를 창출하기 위한 취지로, 진주시 노인일자리 전담기관인 진주서부시니어클럽이 주관한다.
발대식에는 진주시를 비롯해 한국남동발전, 소상공인시장진흥공단, 한국노인인력개발원 등 관계자와 서포터즈 참여 어르신 등 100여 명이 참석했다.
총 52명의 서포터즈가 참여하는 이번 사업에는 진주시가 4억 4천만 원, 한국남동발전이 5천만 원, 소상공인시장진흥공단이 3천만 원을 지원해 총 5억 2천만 원 규모로 추진된다.
서포터즈는 전통시장에서 안전사고 예방 모니터링, 고장 시설물 점검, 상인 및 소비자 지원 활동 등을 수행하며, 이를 통해 지역경제 활성화에 기여할 예정이다.
차석호 진주시 부시장은 “이번 서포터즈 사업은 노인들의 활발한 사회 참여 기회를 제공함과 동시에 전통시장에 새로운 활력을 불어넣을 중요한 출발점이다”고 말했다.
