이랜드그룹이 경북 지역 산불 피해 주민들의 일상 회복을 위해 1억 원 상당의 뉴발란스 및 뉴발란스키즈 의류 1,750점을 추가로 기부하며, 총 6억 원 규모의 지원을 이어가고 있다고 14일 밝혔다.
이번 2차 기부는 지난 4월 1일 진행된 5억 원 상당의 스파오 및 모던하우스 생활물품 기증에 이은 것이다. 이로써 이랜드그룹은 의류와 생활물품을 합쳐 총 6억 원 상당의 물품을 이재민들에게 전달하게 되었다.
2차 지원 물품은 이랜드그룹이 전개하는 글로벌 스포츠 브랜드 뉴발란스의 티셔츠, 트레이닝 바지, 반바지 등 성인용 의류와 뉴발란스키즈의 아동용 실내복 및 상하의 세트 등으로 구성되었으며, 이재민들이 계절 변화에 맞춰 실생활에서 즉시 활용할 수 있는 품목들로 선정되었다.
이랜드그룹을 대표하여 현장 지원을 담당하고 있는 이랜드복지재단은 이번 물품을 대한적십자사 경북지사와 협력하여 피해 지역 주민들에게 순차적으로 전달할 예정이다.
이랜드그룹 관계자는 "산불로 삶의 터전을 잃은 이재민들의 복구 과정이 장기화됨에 따라, 실질적인 도움이 될 수 있는 2차 의류 기부를 결정하게 되었다"라며, "앞으로도 이랜드복지재단을 중심으로 위기 사각지대에 놓인 분들을 선제적으로 발굴하여 지속적인 지원을 이어갈 것"이라고 밝혔다.
한편, 이랜드그룹은 이랜드복지재단 주최로 임직원들과 함께 산불 피해 지원 모금 캠페인을 펼쳐 피해 사각지대에 놓인 가정을 지원하고 있으며, 앞으로도 취약계층의 일상 회복을 위한 사회공헌 활동을 지속적으로 이어갈 예정이다.
E-Land Group Provides Additional 600 Million Won in Aid to Wildfire Victims in Gyeongsangbuk-do
E-Land Group announced on the 14th that it is providing an additional 1,750 items of New Balance and New Balance Kids clothing, worth 100 million won, to support the recovery of residents affected by the recent wildfires in the Gyeongsangbuk-do region, bringing the total aid to 600 million won.
This second round of donations follows the provision of 500 million won worth of SPAO and Modern House daily necessities on April 1st. With this, E-Land Group has delivered a total of 600 million won worth of clothing and daily necessities to the victims.
The second round of relief supplies consists of adult clothing such as t-shirts, training pants, and shorts from New Balance, a global sports brand operated by E-Land Group, and children's indoor wear and sets from New Balance Kids. The items were selected to be practical and immediately useful in daily life, considering the changing seasons.
E-Land Welfare Foundation, which is overseeing the on-site support on behalf of E-Land Group, will deliver these items sequentially to the affected residents in cooperation with the Gyeongsangbuk-do branch of the Korean Red Cross.
An official from E-Land Group stated, "As the recovery process for the victims who lost their homes due to the wildfires is prolonged, we decided to provide a second round of clothing donations that can be of practical help," and added, "We will continue to proactively identify and provide ongoing support to those in vulnerable situations through the E-Land Welfare Foundation."
Meanwhile, E-Land Group is also conducting a fundraising campaign with its employees, organized by the E-Land Welfare Foundation, to support families in vulnerable situations affected by the wildfires. The group plans to continue its social contribution activities to support the recovery of vulnerable groups.
