이날 오전 국회 소통관에서 진행한 기자회견에서 민주당 이병진 의원, 조국혁신당 김준형·백선희 의원, 진보당 정혜경 의원은 “일본의 야심과 미국의 이해가 맞물려, 120년 전 가쓰라-태프트 밀약과 같은 제2의 야합으로 한반도의 운명이 결정되는 역사의 후퇴를 좌시할 수 없다”며, “대한민국 국회가 앞장서서 강대국의 이해가 아니라 국민의 생명과 이익을 중심에 두고, 주권국가로서의 위엄을 지켜야 한다”고 역설했다.
