대전 부사동에 새로 문을 연 대전한화생명볼파크가 장애인 편의시설 미비로 비판을 받고 있다.
지난 3월 5일 개장한 이 구장은 최신 시설을 갖췄다고 홍보했지만, 정작 장애인을 위한 기본적 관람권 보장에는 미흡했다는 지적이다.
전국이동권연대 대전지부와 (가칭)대전장애인편의시설보장연대는 28일 성명을 내고 "대전한화생명볼파크는 전시용에 불과한 휠체어석 설치로 장애인의 관람권을 심각하게 침해했다"고 주장했다.
이들은 "휠체어석은 비장애인석 맨 뒤편에 휠체어 그림만 표시해놓았을 뿐, 별도의 구획이나 안전장치가 전혀 없어 비장애인 관객들이 수시로 휠체어석 앞을 가로막고 서는 일이 벌어지고 있다"고 비판했다.
또한 "이로 인해 휠체어 이용 장애인은 시야를 가로막혀 경기를 제대로 볼 수 없었고, 잠재적 사고 위험에도 불구하고 안전요원 조차 배치되지 않았다"고 지적했다.
아울러 "장애인은 야구를 관람하러 간 것이 아니라, 비장애인의 응원 소리만 듣고 돌아와야 하는 상황"이라며 "최근 개장한 최신 구장답지 않게 장애인에 대한 기본적 배려가 전무하다"고 목소리를 높였다.
보호자석 설치 문제도 논란이 됐다.
한화이글스의 이전 홈구장인 한화이글스파크에서는 장애인 보호자용 테이블석이 마련돼 있었지만, 대전한화생명볼파크에서는 보호자가 접이식 의자를 별도로 수령해 사용해야 하는 방식으로 운영되고 있다.
