전북자치도 부안군 위도면 대리의 한 야산에서 30일 오후 2시 28분께 불길이 치솟아 임야 0.165㏊(500평)가 소실됐다.
이날 산불은 순찰을 하던 산림감시원이 발견해 신고했으며 산림 당국은 헬기 2대를 포함한 진화 장비 3대ㆍ인력 10명을 투입, 화재 발생 1시간 30분 만에 진화를 완료했다.
경찰과 산림 당국은 쓰레기 소각을 하던 중 산불이 발생한 것으로 추정하고 정확한 피해 면적과 화인 등을 조사 중이다.
부주의로 인한 산불 발생 시 산림보호법 제53조에 따라 3년 이하 징역 또는 3,000만 원 이하 벌금형에 처해질 수 있다.
