충남 서산시 산하 서산문화재단이 추진하는 거리 예술 프로젝트 ‘거리로 나온 시민예술’이 5월 14일 음암초등학교 공연을 시작으로 2025년 시즌의 본격적인 막이 오르면서 서산시의 일상 공간이 시민들의 무대로 변신했다.
이번 프로젝트는 무대와 객석의 경계를 허문 자유로운 버스킹 형태로, 서산시 전역의 거리와 공원 등 일상 공간을 배경으로 진행된다. 시민들이 예술가로 참여하고, 시민들이 관객이 되어 문화예술의 생생한 흐름을 함께 만드는 것이 핵심이다.
‘거리로 나온 시민예술’은 2022년 첫선을 보인 이후, 3년간 총 34회 공연을 통해 약 2,900명의 관람객과 호흡하며 서산시민 132명이 직접 예술의 주역으로 참여해왔다. 올해 역시 다양한 장르의 공연이 도심 곳곳을 물들일 예정이다.
특히 올해는 주민자치 프로그램에 참여해 실력을 쌓아온 지역 주민들이 직접 공연자로 무대에 나서며, 시민 참여 폭을 더욱 넓히는 시범 운영이 병행된다.
거리에서 만날 수 있는 공연도 한층 다양해진다. 기타 버스킹, 마임, 서커스, 클래식 음악 등 장르의 경계를 넘는 다채로운 퍼포먼스가 시민의 일상 속으로 스며든다.
