Prayer International Series Wins Best Music Award at Festival Tulipani di Seta Nera 2025 in Rome
Rome, Italy – Young Man Kang Films is proud to announce that Prayer Panama, a moving episode in the Prayer International Series, has been honored with the Best Music Award at the Festival Tulipani di Seta Nera 2025 Digital Series category, held in Rome.
Now in its 18th year, the Festival Tulipani di Seta Nera is an internationally recognized event that celebrates short films, documentaries, and audiovisual works that highlight diversity, social justice, inclusion, and human rights. The festival’s mission is to amplify voices that often go unheard and to promote artistic projects that shine a light on marginalized communities, spiritual resilience, and cross-cultural understanding.

Prayer Panama was recognized for its emotionally powerful score by Won Cheol Jeong, a longtime collaborator of director Young Man Kang. Jeong’s music weaves a deeply reflective and spiritual tone throughout the episode, enhancing the narrative of hope and perseverance in the face of societal and personal challenges. His work, paired with the series’ emphasis on human connection and spiritual reflection, made Prayer Panama a standout in this year’s program.

Following this honor, YMK Films has announced the upcoming production of Prayer Monterrey, the newest installment in the Prayer International Series. Filming will begin in the last week of May in Monterrey, Mexico.
The cast of Prayer Monterrey includes Bárbara Arriaga, Daniel Alcántara, and Alma Castañeda.

Since its inception, the Prayer International Series has told spiritual and socially resonant stories from over 20 cities across five continents, including Istanbul, Rome, Seoul, Tokyo, Los Angeles, and Toronto. Each episode uses mobile phone filmmaking and a vertical cinema format, pushing creative boundaries while maintaining accessibility and authenticity. The series has garnered recognition at international festivals, including Die Seriale in Germany.
The latest release, Prayer Montreal, filmed in Montreal, Quebec, is now available on YouTube, continuing the series’ mission of exploring faith, identity, and hope through culturally specific yet universally relatable stories.
The series' commitment to inclusivity, local collaboration, and spiritual storytelling makes it a compelling and relevant project for today's global audience. The trilogy Prayer Rio, Prayer Panama, and Prayer Petrópolis has received three nominations at Die Seriale 2025, further underscoring the project’s impact and acclaim.

Upcoming episodes are in development for Hollywood, Las Vegas, and La Palma, Michoacán (Mexico). Monterrey, a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and La Palma, known for a legendary rock said to bear the image of Jesus, continue the series’ exploration of sacred places and human transformation. These episodes will be produced in collaboration with Alma Castaneda Productions.
As it grows, the Prayer International Series continues to act as a global anthology of spiritual reflection, offering emotionally rich, socially conscious stories that speak to the universal quest for meaning, healing, and connection.
