(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 서구가 26일, 제3연륙교의 구 대표 명칭 선정을 위해 지난 5월 7일부터 20일까지 14일간 ‘가칭 청라대교(제3연륙교) 구민 선호도조사’를 온라인 및 방문 접수를 통해 실시했다고 밝혔다.
서구에 따르면, 조사에는 총 7,169명의 주민이 참여했으며, 이 중 93%(6,704명)에 달하는 응답자가 ‘청라대교’를 지지했다.
이는 해당 명칭에 대해 지역사회에서 오랜 기간 형성된 공감대가 반영되어 압도적인 선호 결과로 이어진 것으로 분석된다.
주요 이유로는 기존 ‘영종대교’와의 혼동 방지, 지자체 간 형평성 확보, 청라 주민 건설비 부담 등이 제시됐다.
아울러 기타 명칭 제안에는 청라의 국제적 위상과 미래지향적 이미지를 담아낸 ‘청라국제대교’가 51%로 과반을 차지했다.
인천 서구는 이번 조사 결과를 토대로 구 지명위원회를 거쳐 대표 명칭을 확정하고 경제청에 제출할 계획이며, 교량의 최종 명칭은 7월경 인천시 지명위원회를 통해 결정될 전망이다.
서구 관계자는 “선호도조사에 대한 구민분들의 높은 관심과 참여에 깊이 감사드린다”며 “구민분들의 의견이 제3연륙교 명칭 결정에 반영될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
