(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천공항본부세관이 28일, 한국여행업협회(KATA)와 김종호 인천공항본부세관장, 이진석 한국여행업협회장 등 주요 관계자 10여명이 참석한 가운데 데 해외 여행자의 성실신고 문화 확산을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
인천공항본부세관에 따르면, 이번 업무협약은 급증하는 해외여행 수요에 대응하여 여행자의 성실신고와 마약 등 불법물품 반입 예방에 대한 홍보를 강화하고, 여행자통관 서비스 개선을 통한 여행자의 편의를 높이기 위해 마련됐다.
양 기관은 협약을 통해 여행자 대상 자진신고 안내 및 독려, 여행업계 종사자 대상 교육 및 홍보, 위반 사례 예방을 위한 정보공유, 여행자 애로사항 발굴 및 제도개선 등 다양한 분야에서 협력해 나가기로 했다.
김종호 인천공항세관장은 “국내로 가져온 면세범위(미화 800$) 초과 물품을 종이신고서 또는 모바일 앱「여행자 세관신고」을 이용해 성실신고 한 경우, 납부할 관세의 30%(20만원 한도 내)를 감면받을 수 있다”면서, “이번 여행업계와의 긴밀한 협력이 성실신고 문화를 정착시키는 데 큰 힘이 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.
인천공항본부세관은 앞으로도 유관기관과 지속적인 협업을 통해 공정한 여행자통관 질서를 확립하고, 불법물품 반입 차단 등 안전한 관세 국경 관리에 최선을 다할 방침이다.
