브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자서비스는 오는 6월 1일부터 ‘폴더블폰 디스플레이 단품 수리’를 제공하는 서비스센터를 기존 147곳에서 158곳으로 확대한다고 29일 밝혔다.
새롭게 추가되는 11곳은 △서울 을지로, 여의도 △경기도 용인구성 △강원도 태백 △충청도 북천안, 세종 △경상도 거창, 문경, 상주, 영덕, 밀양이다.
‘디스플레이 단품 수리’는 디스플레이 부품과 테두리, 케이스 등을 분해해 필요한 부품만 교체하는 친환경 수리 방식으로 삼성이 업계 최초로 도입했다. 부품을 하나씩 정밀하게 분해하여 수리하기 때문에 고도화된 전문 장비와 엔지니어의 수준 높은 기술 역량이 필요하다.
사용할 수 있는 부품은 최대한 유지하며 교체를 최소화해 전자폐기물(e-Waste) 배출을 줄이고, 고객의 수리비 부담을 경감하는 효과도 있다.
디스플레이 단품 수리를 이용하면 부품 정밀 분해, 재조립 등으로 작업 시간은 다소 증가하나 수리비를 평균 26%, 최대 37%까지 절감할 수 있다.
삼성전자서비스는 2019년 업계 최초로 ‘디스플레이 단품 수리’를 도입한 후 대상 모델, 서비스 거점 등을 꾸준히 확대하며 고객의 서비스 이용 편의를 향상해 왔다.
갤럭시 S계열은 전국 모든 서비스센터에서 편리하게 디스플레이 단품 수리를 이용할 수 있고, 폴더블폰 디스플레이 단품 수리도 2024년 1월 13곳을 시작으로 점진적으로 확대해 현재 158곳에서 서비스를 제공하고 있다.
디스플레이 단품 수리 서비스센터 확대와 고객의 호평 속에 이용률도 크게 증가했다. 실제로 올해 1~4월 디스플레이 단품 수리를 이용한 고객은 전년 동기 대비 2배 이상 증가했다.
