(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천해양경찰서가 지난 29일 남동구 소래습지생태공원에서 연안정화활동을 펼쳤다고 밝혔다.
인천해경에 따르면, 제30회 바다의 날을 기념해 진행된 이번 정화활동에는 인천해경과 인천지방해양수산청, 해양환경공단 인천지사, 인천항만공사, 포스코이앤씨, 한국전력인천본부 등에서 200여 명이 참여했다.
바다의 날(5월 31일)은 해양산업의 중요성과 해양종사자들의 노고를 위로하기 위해 제정한 법정 기념일로, 통일신라시대 장보고 대사가 청해진을 설치한 날이다.
연안정화활동 참가자들은 이날 소래습지생태공원 갯벌에서 폐플라스틱과 폐어구 등 해양쓰레기 7t을 수거했다.
또, 염생식물을 소개하는 블루카본 알리기 캠페인과 해양환경 보호에 관한 사진 전시 등 다양한 해양환경 보전활동을 실시했다.
앞서 해경은 지난 3월 소래습지 내에 염생식물을 심었다.
이광진 서장은 “기후위기로 바다생태계가 위험에 직면한 가운데 이번 갯벌 및 연안정화활동이 해양환경 보호의 중요성을 재인식하는 계기가 됐길 바란다”며 “안전하고 깨끗한 바다를 만들기 위해 국민의 관심과 적극적인 참여가 필요하다”고 말했다.

Incheon Coast Guard announced that it conducted coastal cleanup activities at Sorae Wetland Ecological Park in Namdong-gu on the 29th.
