김문수 후보 비서실장인 김재원 의원은 5월30일 페이스북에 김문수 후보의 부인인 설난영 씨 관련 이야기를 게재했다. 아래는 그간 전한 김문수 후보의 말 전문이다.
“유시민씨가 내 아내가 나와 결혼할 때 고졸이었고 공장에 다니는 여자였다며 여러 가지 이야기를 했던데 잘 모르고 하는 말입니다. 저는 7남매의 6번째인데 형제간에 저 혼자 대학을 졸업했을 뿐입니다. 집안 형편상 큰누님은 초등학교를 졸업했고 나머지 형제들도 고등학교를 겨우 나왔습니다. 형제간에 그렇게 살아왔기 때문에 아내가 고졸이라고 해서 다른 생각을 가져본 적이 없습니다.
더욱이 제가 결혼할 당시에는 서울대학을 다니다가 2번 제적을 당해 공장에 취업해 한일도루코 노조위원장을 할 때였고, 아내도 세진전자 노조위원장이었습니다. 금속노조의 청년부장과 여성부장을 맡아 일하고 있을 때 서로 알았고 우리는 동급이었습니다.
서울대학을 졸업한 것은 결혼 후 13년이 지나서야 복학 후 졸업했습니다. 40년을 넘도록 부부로서 행복하게 잘 살고 있는데 남의 집 사정을 알지도 못하면서 함부로 얘기하고 있어요.
