(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 2일, 최태웅 (현)대한배구협회 유소년 이사이자 (전)천안 현대캐피탈 스카이워커스 감독을 홍보대사로 위촉했다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 최태웅 홍보대사는 인천 출신으로 주안초, 인하사대부중, 인하사대부고를 졸업했으며, 국가대표 배구 선수로 활약한 뒤 지도자로 전향해 프로배구팀 감독으로서 우수한 성과를 거뒀다.
현재는 SBS Sports 해설위원이자 대한배구협회 유소년 이사로 활동 중이다.
인천시교육청은 그간 ‘1학교 1학생 1스포츠’ 활성화를 위한 1·1·1 스포츠 프로젝트 등 다양한 체육 교육 정책을 추진해왔으며, 이번 홍보대사 위촉으로 학교 스포츠 활성화와 지역 체육 문화 확산 등 다양한 활동에 시너지 효과를 낼 것으로 기대하고 있다.
최태웅 홍보대사는 “인천에서 배움의 뿌리를 내린 만큼, 학생들에게 꿈과 희망을 전하는 데 힘쓰겠다”며 “배구를 통해 얻은 도전과 협력의 가치를 교육 현장에 전하고 싶다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
