세종시 행복도시 5-1생활권(합강동)에 조성 중인 유치원과 초·중학교의 개교 시점이 기존 계획보다 6개월 늦춰진 2028년 3월로 확정됐다.
세종시교육청은 ‘가칭’ 합강1유, 합강1초, 합강중의 개교 일정을 당초 계획한 2027년 9월에서 2028년 3월로 조정한다고 5일 밝혔다. 이번 결정은 인근 아파트 입주 일정이 연기되면서 불가피하게 이뤄졌다.
당초 이들 학교는 5-1생활권 스마트시티 개발에 맞춰 인구 유입 시점에 맞춰 개교할 예정이었다. 지난해 7월 교육부 중앙투자심사를 통과하며 사업 추진에 탄력이 붙었고, 현재는 실시 설계가 진행 중이다.
하지만 교육청에 따르면, 합강동 내 L12블록(양우건설, 698세대)의 입주가 당초 2027년 7월에서 2028년 3월로 미뤄졌고, L9블록(계룡건설, 424세대)의 입주도 2027년 하반기 이후로 연기됐다. 이에 따라 학교 수요 발생 시점도 늦춰질 수밖에 없어, 이에 맞춰 개교 시점을 재조정한 것이다.
교육청은 행정중심복합도시건설청, 한국토지주택공사(LH) 세종특별본부와 실무 협의를 거쳐 합강지구 스마트시티 개발 일정과 2027년 충청권 하계세계대학경기대회 숙소(L2, L3, L5블록) 활용 이후 공급 계획 등을 종합 검토한 뒤, 개교 연기를 최종 확정했다.
