(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 9일, 치매관리 사업 위탁기관인 광역치매센터와 권역별 호스피스센터의 공동주관으로 오는 6월 23일 가톨릭대학교 인천성모병원 마리아홀에서 ‘2025년 지역사회 중심의 생애말기 돌봄 심포지엄’을 개최한다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면, 이번 심포지엄은 ‘돌봄통합지원법 시대의 생애말기 치매환자 돌봄’을 주제로, 변화하는 제도적 환경 속에서 치매 환자의 마지막 삶이 더욱 존엄하게 이어질 수 있는 방안을 함께 고민하고 논의하는 자리로 마련됐다.
두 기관의 공동주관으로 2022년부터 매년 생애말기 돌봄에 대한 학술 심포지엄을 개최해 왔다.
2022년에는 ‘치매환자의 존엄을 지키는 죽음’을, 2023년에는 ‘함께 준비하는 마지막 여정’을, 2024년에는 ‘지역사회 중심의 생애말기 돌봄’을 주제로 삼아 치매환자의 삶의 마무리를 함께 준비하는 사회적 논의의 장을 지속적으로 확장해 왔다.
올해로 네 번째를 맞는 이번 심포지엄은 ‘돌봄통합지원법’시행을 앞두고, 치매환자를 위한 지역 기반 돌봄 체계의 필요성과 실행 과제를 중심으로 깊이 있는 논의가 이루어질 예정이다.
심포지엄은 총 2부로 구성된다.
1부 기조강연에서는 김세진 한국보건사회연구원 사회서비스정책연구실 부실장이 ‘돌봄통합지원법의 주요 내용과 치매 돌봄의 변화 전망’을, 유애정 국민건강보험공단 통합돌봄연구센터장이 ‘생애말기 치매환자 돌봄에서의 장기요양보험의 역할’에 대해 기조 강연을 진행한다.
2부에서는 윤주영 서울대학교 간호대학 교수가 좌장을 맡아 ‘생애말기 치매환자를 위한 지역사회 통합돌봄, 무엇이 필요한가?’를 주제로 패널토론이 이어진다.
패널토론에는 치매환자 가족, 사회복지학 교수, 치매안심병원 관리자, 호스피스 전문가, 지자체 정책 담당자 등 다양한 분야의 전문가들이 참여해 각자의 시각에서 생애말기 돌봄의 현실과 대안에 대해 심도 있는 논의를 펼칠 계획이다.
인천시 관계자는 “치매환자의 마지막 삶을 지역사회가 함께 고민하고 준비할 수 있도록 의미 있는 공론의 장을 마련했다”라며 “이번 심포지엄이 치매환자의 존엄한 삶을 지원하고, 돌봄통합지원법과 관련된 현장의 실천적 관심을 이끄는 계기가 되길 바란다”라고 밝혔다.
이번 심포지엄은 생애말기 치매환자 돌봄에 관심 있는 누구나 참여할 수 있으며, 6월 13일까지 인천광역치매센터 누리집 또는 안내 포스터에 있는 QR코드를 통해 온라인 사전 신청이 가능하다.
