(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 국회에서 지난 10일, 2025 아시아태평양경제협력체(APEC) 정상회의 지원 특별위원회 제3차 전체회의가 열린 가운데 여당 간사를 맡은 정일영 의원이 “APEC 정상회의 성공을 위해 교통·숙박·홍보·안전 등의 사안을 국회 차원에서 면밀하게 챙기는 한편, 각 부처는 당초 계획보다 지연되지 않게 착실히 챙겨야 한다”고 밝혔다.
이번 회의는 강인선 외교부 제2차관을 비롯해 기획재정부·문화체육관광부·산업통상자원부·국토교통부·해양수산부·경상북도·경주시·대한상공회의소 등 유관 부처와 기관의 책임자가 모두 참석해 경주 APEC 정상회의 준비상황을 특위 위원들에게 보고하기 위해 마련된 자리다.
지난 6개월의 비상계엄, 탄핵, 대선 등으로 APEC 준비가 소홀히 된 것으로 보여 국회 특위 차원에서 적극적으로 점검하기로 했다.
특히 이날 회의에서 특위 위원들은 교통 및 PRS 추진현황, 비상상황 발생 시 의료 대책, 경제인 초청 및 크루즈 활용 방안, 항공·육상 교통 인프라 조기 정비, 국내외 홍보전략 및 K-컬쳐 콘텐츠 활용 등 사업별 추진현황을 점검했다.

이어서 “정상회의가 대한민국의 국가 위상을 높이고 경제외교 확대의 중요한 전환점이 될 수 있도록 여당·야당 구분 없이 초당적으로 협력해야만 한다”고 강조했다.
