(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 오는 6월 14일 송도 센트럴파크 잔디광장에서 ‘2025 인천 공정무역 페스티벌’을 개최한다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면, 이번 행사는 시민들이 공정무역(Fair Trade)의 의미를 보다 쉽게 이해하고 직접 체험할 수 있도록 기획됐으며, 윤리적 소비와 지속 가능한 삶의 방식을 널리 확산시키기 위한 목적으로 마련됐다.
인천시는 지난 2010년 공정무역도시를 선언하고, 2017년 10월 대한민국 최초로 공정무역도시 인증을 받은 이후 지역 기반의 공정무역 확산과 시민 인식 제고를 위한 다양한 노력을 이어오고 있다.
이번 페스티벌은 이러한 정책 흐름의 연장선에서 개최되는 행사로, 공정무역 활동의 현재와 미래를 조망하고 시민과 함께 만들어가는 ‘지속가능한 공정무역도시 인천’의 비전을 공유하는 자리가 될 전망이다.
행사 당일 특설무대에서는 개막식(환영사, 공정무역 유공자 표창 등) 공정무역 패션쇼, 도전 골든벨, 공정무역제품 빨리 먹기 대회 등이 진행될 예정이며, 오전 11시부터 오후 5시 30분까지 공정무역 커피 및 제품 무료 시음·시식, 핸드드립과 수망로스팅 체험 등 공정무역 제품 전시·판매 부스를 비롯해 공정무역에 대한 이해를 돕는 다양한 체험 프로그램과 시민·청소년 참여 콘텐츠가 운영될 예정이다.
김진태 시 경제산업본부장은 “공정무역은 단순한 경제 활동을 넘어 인권과 환경, 그리고 지속가능성을 아우르는 전 지구적 실천”이라며 “이번 페스티벌을 통해 시민 여러분이 공정무역의 가치에 공감하고, 일상에서 실천 가능한 윤리적 소비를 함께 고민하는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
