동국제강 포항공장 내 에너지저장장치 에서 화제 발생

【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=16일 오전 8시 반께 포항시 남구 대송면 송동리 동국제강 포항공장 내 에너지저장장치(Energy Storage System, ESS)에서 원인을 알수없는 화제가 발생했다. 

소방당국은 오전 10시 4분께 대응 1단계를 발령하고, 장비 30대와 인력 60여명을 동원해 진화작업을 벌이고 있다.

이날 불로 에너지저장장치센터 안에 장착돼 있던 배터리 모듈 8392개와 샌드위치패널 건물 1,100여 제곱미터가 불에탔다.

소방당국은 119특수대응단 장비 등을 동원해 진화 작업을 벌이고 있다. 다만 소방 당국은 인접 건물로 화재가 번질 우려는 없다고 밝혔다. 소방당국은 완전히 불을 끄는 데까지는 하루에서 이틀 이상이 걸릴 것으로 보고 있다.
