[브레이크뉴스=강동호 기자] 함양군은 오는 7월 1일부터 어르신과 청소년·어린이를 대상으로 관내 버스 무료 이용 사업을 본격 시행한다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 민선 8기 진병영 군수의 핵심 공약 가운데 하나로, 교통약자의 이동권 보장과 교통 복지 향상을 목표로 추진된다.

그동안 군은 추진계획 수립 후 보건복지부와의 사회보장제도 협의, 관련 조례 제정, 교통복지카드 시스템 구축, 카드 제작 등 사전 절차를 착실히 준비해 왔다.

현재 함양군은 2019년부터 1,000원 단일요금제를 시행해 군민 교통비 부담을 줄여온 바 있다. 

이번 무료 이용 사업이 시행되면 함양군에 주소를 둔 약 1만 8,000여 명의 어르신(65세 이상), 청소년 및 어린이(18세 이하)가 관내 시내버스를 요금 부담 없이 자유롭게 이용할 수 있게 된다.

버스 무료 이용 혜택을 받고자 하는 군민은 신분증, 학생증, 가족관계증명서 등 대상자임을 증명할 수 있는 증빙서류를 지참하여, 주소지 읍면사무소를 방문해 ‘함양군민전용 교통복지카드’를 신청, 발급받으면 된다. 기존에 함양군민 전용카드를 발급받은 분들은 추가 발급 없이 사용할 수 있다.
