이날 김광열 영덕군수는 담당 직원들과 함께 현장을 찾아 최근 이상기후에 따른 대응 체계를 점검하고, 각종 안전사고 예방을 위한 시설물 관리 상태를 면밀히 살폈다. 특히 안전 표지판과 인명구조함 등 시설물 상태를 확인하고, 안전관리 요원 배치 및 근무 실태를 점검하며 안전관리에 만전을 기했다.
영덕군은 이번 점검 결과를 토대로 확인된 위험 요소에 대한 보완 및 개선 조치를 신속히 이행할 계획이다. 또한, 물놀이 관리지역 4개소에 안전관리 요원 18명을 배치해 순찰 및 계도 등 예찰 활동을 강화함으로써 여름철 피서객 안전관리에 빈틈이 없도록 할 방침이다.
