이번 포럼에는 한중일 지방정부 관계자와 러시아를 비롯한 AI 분야 전문가, 경제인 등 각계각층의 주요 인사들이 대거 참석할 예정이다.
2015년 첫 발을 내디딘 이 포럼은 지난 10년간 포항의 국제적 위상을 높이고 동북아 도시 간 경제협력의 중요한 플랫폼 역할을 수행해왔다. 10회를 맞이하는 올해 포럼은 'SEA AI : 동북아의 미래를 위한 협력 모델'을 주제로, 포항의 글로벌 경제도시 도약과 마이스(MICE) 산업 활성화를 도모한다.
행사는 맹성현 태재대학교 부총장의 기조연설로 시작된다. 해외 전문가로는 안유화 중국 하남과기대 핀테크 석좌교수, 사토 야스오 일본 올가나이즈 재팬 주식회사 대표이사, 안톤 타마로비치 러시아 인공지능 개발국가센터 부서장이 참여하며, 국내에서는 조윤석 한동대학교 부총장, 이광용 네이버 Public DX 전략 상무, 전형모 한국해양수산개발원(KMI) 해양수산 AI 전환 지원단장이 발표자로 나선다.
특히, 이번 포럼은 2025 포항국제불빛축제 메인 행사 당일인 21일 열려, 축제에 초청된 해외도시 대표단도 참석해 그 의미를 더할 예정이다.
포럼은 한국어·중국어·영어 동시통역으로 진행되며, 포항시는 이번 포럼을 통해 마이스 산업도시로의 도약은 물론 국가 AI 컴퓨팅센터 유치 등 산업 경쟁력 강화에도 박차를 가할 방침이다.
이강덕 포항시장은 "동북아 CEO 경제협력 포럼이 동북아 도시 간 실질적 경제협력을 촉진하는 장이 되길 바란다"며, "지방도시 간 교류 강화와 경제 상생을 위한 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 포럼으로 확대하는 데 역량을 집중하겠다"고 강조했다.

Pohang City will hold the '10th Northeast Asia CEO Economic Cooperation Forum' at POSCO International Hall at 9:30 AM on the 21st.
This forum is expected to be attended by key figures from all walks of life, including local government officials from Korea, China, and Japan, AI experts from Russia, and businesspeople.
This forum, which was first held in 2015, has served as an important platform for economic cooperation between cities in Northeast Asia and raised Pohang's international status over the past 10 years. This year's forum, which is in its 10th year, will be themed 'SEA AI: Cooperation Model for the Future of Northeast Asia' and will seek to promote Pohang's leap forward as a global economic city and revitalize the MICE industry.
The event will begin with a keynote speech by Vice President Maeng Seong-hyeon of Taejae University. Overseas experts include An Yu-hwa, Professor of Fintech at Henan University of Science and Technology in China, Yasuo Sato, CEO of Organize Japan Co., Ltd. in Japan, and Anton Tamarovich, Department Head of the Russian National Center for Artificial Intelligence Development. From Korea, Vice President Cho Yoon-seok of Handong University, Executive Director Lee Kwang-yong of Naver Public DX Strategy, and Director Jeon Hyeong-mo of the Marine and Fisheries AI Transition Support Team at the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI) will be presenting.
In particular, this forum will be held on the 21st, the day of the main event of the 2025 Pohang International Light Festival, and overseas city representatives invited to the festival will also attend, adding to its significance.
The forum will be simultaneously interpreted in Korean, Chinese, and English, and Pohang City plans to use this forum to spur its leap forward as a MICE industrial city as well as strengthening its industrial competitiveness by attracting a national AI computing center.
Pohang Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, “I hope that the Northeast Asia CEO Economic Cooperation Forum will become a venue for promoting practical economic cooperation between Northeast Asian cities,” and emphasized, “We will focus our capabilities on expanding it into a forum with global competitiveness for strengthening exchanges between local cities and economic coexistence.”
