(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시 특별사법경찰이 17일, 봄철 어패류 산란기를 맞아 지난 3월부터 5월까지 석 달간 인천시 및 군·구와 합동으로 불법 어업 행위에 대한 집중 단속을 실시했다고 밝혔다.
인천특사경에 따르면, 이번 합동단속은 육상과 해상에서 동시에 이뤄졌다.
육상에서는 수협 위판장, 어시장, 주요 항·포구를 중심으로 단속을 진행했으며, 해상에서는 어업지도선 10척을 투입해 해역별·업종별 맞춤형 단속을 벌였다.
단속 결과, 무허가어업 4건, 불법 어획물 판매 금지 위반 1건, 불법 어구 적재 위반 1건 등 총 6건의 불법 행위를 적발했다.
구체적으로는 A 수산물 판매업자가 판매 금지 체장(6.4cm 미만)의 꽃게를 판매하다 적발됐으며, B 어업인은 승인받지 않은 어구(그물코 규격 위반 어망)를 어선에 적재한 사실이 확인됐다.
또, 다수의 어업인이 해상에 불법 건간망을 설치해 수산물을 불법 포획·채취한 것으로 드러났다.
현행 수산 관련 법령에 따르면, 수산자원의 금지 체장을 위반할 경우 2년 이하의 징역 또는 2천만 원 이하의 벌금에 처해질 수 있으며, 승인받지 않은 어구를 제작·판매·적재·사용할 경우에는 1천만 원 이하의 벌금이 부과된다.
무허가 어업을 한 경우에는 3년 이하의 징역 또는 3천만 원 이하의 벌금에 처해질 수 있다.
인천시는 이번에 적발된 불법 어업 행위에 대해 관련 법령에 따라 즉각 사법처리를 진행하고, 관할 군·구에 어업 정지 또는 과태료 부과 등 행정처분을 요청할 계획이다.
