(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 계양구가 오는 6월 26일부터 7월 7일까지 초등학생들이 도로명주소를 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 ‘어린이 도로명주소 교실’을 운영한다고 밝혔다.
계양구에 따르면, 이번 교육은 행정안전부와 KT가 공동 개발한 디지털교과서 ‘플레이스B’를 활용해 메타버스 환경에서 진행된다.
사전 수요 조사를 거쳐 명현초등학교, 효성동초등학교, 병방초등학교, 계양초등학교, 효성초등학교 등 5개 학교에서 수업이 열린다.
메타버스를 활용한 이번 교육은 텍스트 중심 이론 수업에서 벗어나 흥미로운 요소가 더해진 실습형 수업으로 진행된다.
담당 주무관이 일일 교사로 나서 도로명주소 원리와 개념을 설명하고, 학생들은 메타버스 속에서 직접 자신의 아바타를 움직여 도로명판, 건물 번호판 등을 활용해 목적지를 찾아가는 등 실습형 교육이 이뤄진다.
특히, 각 학교 주변 실제 환경을 가상 공간에 구현해 학생들의 흥미와 집중력을 높일 계획이다.
학생들은 가상 플랫폼에서 실제 도로명주소와 시설물을 경험하며 도로명주소의 실감 나게 학습할 수 있다.
계양구 관계자는 “이번 메타버스 수업을 통해 아이들이 도로명주소를 보다 쉽게 익히고 실생활에서 유용하게 활용하길 기대한다.”며 “앞으로도 창의적이고 재미있는 학습 콘텐츠를 통해 생활 속 주소 이해도를 높여나가겠다.”고 전했다.
