[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시은 19일 '명지 복합 메디컬 타운’ 조성을 위한 4자 간 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이날 오후 시청 영상회의실에서 진행된 4자 간 업무협약(MOU)을 체결식은 박형준 부산시장, 대한불교조계종 총무원장 진우 스님, 동국대학교 이사장 돈관 스님, ㈜엠케이에이에이치 대표이사 주석 스님, 박성호 부산진해경제자유구역청장, 동국대학교 총장 및 의료원장 등 주요 인사가 참석했다.
이날 협약에 따라 명지국제신도시 내 약 64,000㎡ 규모의 의료용지에 500병상 규모의 동국대학교 병원을 중심으로, 명상센터, 문화시설, 주거·상업시설을 포함한 복합 메디컬 타운이 조성될 예정이다.
동국대학교 병원의 유치는 학교법인이 영남권에 처음으로 진출하는 대형 기반 시설 확장 사례로, 첨단 의료 서비스 제공은 물론 지역 의료 접근성 향상에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
부산시는 이번 협약을 통해 행정 지원을 제공하고, ㈜엠케이에이에이치는 의료기관 건립 및 인프라 조성을 담당한다. 동국대학교는 병원 운영을 맡고, 부산진해경제자유구역청은 관련 인허가 절차를 지원하게 된다.
