(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 부천시가 25일, 본격적인 여름철을 앞두고 지난해 도심 곳곳에서 대량 발생했던 붉은등우단털파리(일명 러브버그)의 재출현 가능성에 대비해 선제 대응에 나선다고 밝혔다.
시민 생활에 불편을 주는 공공장소를 중심으로 보건소 방역 차량과 각 구청 도시미관과의 살수차량을 투입해 제한적으로 물을 뿌리는 방식으로 대응할 계획이다.
부천시에 따르면, 러브버그는 독성은 없으나 사람을 향해 날아드는 습성이 있어 시민들에게 불쾌감을 줄 수 있다.
대량 발생 시 건물 외벽, 차량, 창문 등에 붙어 도시 미관을 해치는 등 민원이 이어지고 있어 적극적인 관리가 필요하다.
