(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 지난 24일 ‘인천 특수교육 개선 세부 추진 현황’에 대한 자체 평가 회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 회의에서는 특수학급 신.증설을 위한 자치법규 개정, 특수교육운영위원회 기능 강화, 특수교육지원센터 운영 개선, 행동중재지원단 전문성 향상 등 주요 추진 현황이 논의됐다.
먼저, 교육청 주도의 특수학급 신.증설을 위해 ‘인천광역시교육청 특수학급 설치 및 지원 조례’와 ‘인천광역시 특수교육운영위원회 규칙’일부개정안이 마련됐으며, 2025년 7월 7일부터 시행될 예정이다.
개정안에 따라 특수교육운영위원회 산하 실무위원회가 구성되며, 특수학교와 일반학교의 특수학급 설치·유지·감축에 관한 사항을 심의하게 된다.
2025년 6월 1일 기준, 총 139개의 특수학급이 신.증설됐고, 과밀학급 해소를 위해 한시적 정원 외 기간제 특수교사 159명이 배치됐다.
또한, 인천시교육청 교육정책연구소에서 진행중인‘특수교육지원센터 중심의 인천형 특수교육 지원체계 연구’결과를 토대로 특수교육지원센터 운영 방식도 개선할 계획이다.
아울러, 2025학년도에는 일반교사 8명과 특수교사 12명을 행동 분석 전문 교사로 선발.양성하고, 2021~2024년간 양성된 53명과 함께 학습공동체를 운영해 내부 전문가 인력풀을 확대해 나갈 방침이다.
인천시교육청 관계자는 “인천 특수교육 9대 개선 과제와 33개 세부 과제가 충실히 이행될 수 있도록, 모두를 위한 교육환경 조성에 교육공동체와 함께 노력해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
