대전도시공사(사장 정국영)는 27일부터 오는 7월 17일까지 지역 대학생들의 도시건축 역량을 높이기 위한 ‘2025 대전 건축디자인캠프’를 운영한다고 밝혔다.
이번 캠프는 대전광역시가 주최하고, (사)대전도시건축연구원과 대전도시공사가 공동으로 주관하는 건축 분야 특화 프로그램으로, 매년 하계 방학 기간 중 지속적으로 운영돼 왔다.
올해는 ‘새롭게 채워지는 도시의 가능성’을 주제로, 원도심 내 유휴공간이자 시에서 매입 예정인 빈집을 중심으로 다양한 활용 방안을 모색한다.
특히 대전 내 7개 대학교의 건축학 전공 교수와 학생, 그리고 현업 건축사들이 팀을 이뤄 현장 중심의 실질적인 설계 제안에 나선다.
참가자들은 게스트하우스, 소규모 웨딩 공간, 도심형 스마트팜 등 도시의 새로운 라이프스타일을 반영한 창의적인 아이디어를 도출할 계획이다.
정국영 대전도시공사 사장은 “이번 ‘대전 건축디자인캠프’를 통해 공사 정책과 연계 가능한 창의적 아이디어가 도출되어, 대전 도시건축문화의 지속 발전과 저변 확대에 기여하길 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편, ‘대전 건축디자인캠프’는 단순한 설계실습을 넘어, 도시 문제 해결을 위한 공공디자인의 역할과 가능성을 실험하는 실습형 교육모델로 자리 잡고 있다.
