인천시에 따르면, 통계청이 지난 6월 발표한 인구동향에는 올해 1월부터 4월까지 인천시의 출생아 수는 총 5,590명으로 집계됐다.
이는 3월까지의 누적 출생아 수 대비 1,374명이 늘어난 수치로, 전년 동기 대비 출생아 수 증가율은 15.1%이며, 전국 평균인 7.7%의 두 배에 달한다.
