【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=외식 창업을 준비 중인 예비 창업자들이 포항의 수산물 중심 식당을 찾아 창업 현장을 생생히 체험했다.
대구시와 영진전문대학교가 공동 운영하는 ‘외식창업 키워드림 아카데미’ 11기 과정 수강생 25명이 지난 3일, 포항 영일대 인근 회 전문 음식점을 방문해 수산물 외식업 운영에 관한 현장 교육을 받았다.
이번 교육은 점포 운영의 실질적인 노하우를 익히고, 외식업 창업의 현실을 경험할 수 있도록 기획됐다. 참가자들은 포항의 인기 점포들을 돌아보며 메뉴 구성 방식, 주방 동선 설계, 위생 관리, 식자재 공급망 구축 등 창업에 꼭 필요한 핵심 요소들을 전문가의 설명과 함께 직접 확인했다.
영진전문대학교 호텔항공관광과 이재훈 교수는 “창업 교육은 이론도 중요하지만, 실제 운영되는 매장을 통해 생생한 정보를 얻는 것이 가장 효과적”이라며 “수강생들이 포항 현장에서 얻은 경험을 바탕으로 보다 실전적인 창업 계획을 세울 수 있을 것”이라고 전했다.
올해 5월 개강한 제11기 ‘외식창업 키워드림 아카데미’는 대구시 위생정책과와 영진전문대학교가 협력해 운영하고 있으며, 약 2개월 동안 이론과 실습을 병행한 맞춤형 교육을 제공하고 있다.
이 프로그램은 외식업 창업을 희망하는 시민들에게 실질적인 준비 과정을 제공하고, 창업 성공률을 높이는 데 초점을 두고 있다.
한편, 오는 8월 14일 개강하는 ‘외식창업 키워드림 아카데미’ 12기 과정은 7월 한 달간 수강생을 모집 중이며, 대구 지역 내 예비 및 초기 창업자라면 누구나 신청할 수 있다.
영진전문대학교는 향후에도 산학협력을 기반으로 외식산업 현장 중심 교육을 강화하고, 지역 외식업 경쟁력 향상을 위한 다양한 프로그램을 지속해나갈 계획이다.

Professor Lee Jae-hoon of the Hotel, Aviation, and Tourism Department of Yeongjin College said, “Although theories are important in entrepreneurship education, it is most effective to obtain vivid information through stores that are actually in operation,” and added, “Students will be able to make more practical startup plans based on the experiences they gained in the Pohang field.”
The 11th ‘Restaurant Startup Keyword Dream Academy’, which opened in May of this year, is operated in collaboration between Daegu City’s Sanitation Policy Division and Yeongjin College, and provides customized education that combines theory and practice for approximately 2 months.
This program focuses on providing practical preparation courses to citizens who wish to start a restaurant business and increasing the success rate of starting a business.
Meanwhile, the 12th course of the ‘Restaurant Startup Keyword Dream Academy’, which opens on August 14, is recruiting students for the month of July, and anyone who is a prospective or early-stage entrepreneur in the Daegu area can apply.
Yeongjin College plans to continue to strengthen education centered on the restaurant industry based on industry-academic cooperation and to continue various programs to enhance the competitiveness of the local restaurant industry.
