세종시 내 심화되는 상가 공실 문제 해결을 위한 의정 차원의 실질적 논의가 본격화됐다.
세종특별자치시의회 ‘상가 공실의 다각적 해법 찾기 위한 연구모임’(대표의원 김효숙)은 4일, 대평동에 위치한 집합상가 ‘해피라움페스타’에서 제3차 간담회 및 현장 방문을 진행하며 대응 전략 마련에 나섰다.
이날 행사에는 연구모임 소속 의원들과 상가 관계자, 연구용역 수행자 등 총 22명이 참석해, 상가 공실에 대한 체계적인 실태 점검과 해법 마련을 위한 심도 깊은 논의를 펼쳤다. 간담회는 '연구용역 추진 경과 보고', '상가 관계자 의견 청취', '현장 방문' 순으로 진행됐다.

간담회에 참석한 상가 입주 관계자들은 생존 위기 상황을 토로했다. 한 관계자는 “상가 대부분이 비어 있음에도 불구하고 관리비, 공공요금 등 고정비용은 매월 부과돼 경제적 부담이 가중되고 있다”며 “대출 규제 완화 등 현실적인 지원책이 절실하다”고 호소했다.
이에 김효숙 대표의원은 “심각한 공실 문제로 인해 수분양자 여러분이 겪고 있는 경제적 어려움의 심각성을 무겁게 받아들이고 있다”며 “현실적인 대책 마련이 절실한 만큼, 상가 관계자 여러분의 어려움을 덜 수 있도록 적극적으로 해법을 찾아 나가겠다”고 말했다. 이어 “앞으로도 지속적으로 소통하며, 함께 해결책을 모색해 나가겠다”고 덧붙였다.
