'팀 김연경'은 프로팀들에게 의미 있는 도전장을 던질 수 있을까.
지상파 MBC의 신규 '배구 예능' 프로그램에 출격할 '팀 연경(가제)'의 공개 선수 모집 신청이 오는 10일 마감된다. 이어 12~13일 이틀 동안 트라이아웃을 통해 최종 멤버를 선발한다. 그렇게 '김연경 팀'이 공식 출범한다.

MBC 측은 보도자료를 통해 "이번 배구 예능은 선수로서 최고의 커리어를 완성한 김연경의 경험을 바탕으로 배구를 새롭게 조명한다"며 "스포츠 만화보다 더 완벽했던 김연경의 라스트 댄스에 이어, 배구 인생 제2막을 펼칠 김연경의 퍼스트 댄스가 기대를 모은다"고 밝혔다. 이번 예능 프로는 2025년 하반기에 방송될 예정이다.
표승주·실업팀 주요 선수, '팀 김연경' 신청할까

자연스럽게 어떤 선수들이 신청서를 냈을지, 트라이아웃 실시 후 '팀 김연경' 맴버들의 수준이 어느 정도일지에 관심이 모아지고 있다.
선수들의 참여 열기도 높다. 배구계에선 실업팀의 주요 선수, 구솔·이진 등 해외 리그 경험 선수, 한국 대학 팀에서 뛰고 있는 몽골 선수 등이 신청했다는 소문이 흘러나온다.
