지난 8일 서부정류장 일대에서는 주민들과 경찰, 그리고 보건소 직원들이 한데 모여 깨끗하고 건강한 거리 만들기에 나섰다.
이번 캠페인에는 조재구 남구청장부터 박기석 남부경찰서장, 금연 홍보단 ‘우리마을누비단’까지 약 50여 명이 함께했다.
이들은 서부정류장 주변을 누비며 금연·금주 문화를 알리고, 담배꽁초 줍기와 금연클리닉 안내 등 다양한 활동으로 건강한 생활을 응원했다.
특히 지난 4월 금연 구역으로 지정된 서부정류장 조경지는 곧 금주 구역까지 확대될 예정이라, 주민들에게 그 소식을 알리는 데도 집중했다. “여기서는 담배도, 술도 No!”라는 메시지가 울려 퍼졌다.
경찰도 현장에서 공공질서 확립을 위해 적극 나서며, 주민들의 생활 환경 개선에 큰 힘을 보탰다.
조재구 남구청장은 “행정과 주민, 경찰이 손잡고 함께할 때 우리 동네가 더 건강하고 쾌적해진다”며 “앞으로도 모두가 행복한 남구 만들기에 최선을 다하겠다”고 다짐했다.
