(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 10일, 제7회 교육 공공데이터 분석활용대회에서 인천교육청 소속 고등학생팀이 대상인 교육부장관상을 비롯해 우수한 성적을 거뒀다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 대회는 교육부와 전국 시도교육청, 한국교육학술정보원이 공동 주최하고, 한국교육개발원 등 유관기관이 후원하는 전국 규모의 공모전으로, 학생들이 교육 공공데이터를 활용해 교육 현안을 분석하고 정책 대안을 제시하는 방식으로 진행됐다.
대회에서 인하대학교사범대학부속고등학교 ‘INSITE’팀은 ‘공공데이터 기반 통학로 안전지수 시각화 및 최적 CCTV 설치 알고리즘 개발’로 학생 안전을 고려한 실효성 높은 정책 대안을 제시해 대상인교육부장관상을 수상했다.
이외에도 인천진산과학고 ‘SW’팀이 ‘학교별 복합활동지수를 활용한 교육환경 격차 분석과 정책 제안’으로 최우수상을, 같은 학교 ‘에듀 익스프레스’팀과 인천하늘고 ‘Youth Point’팀이 각각 우수상을 수상했다.
인천시교육청은 2022년부터 전 학년 노트북 보급과 AI·코딩교육 확대 등 디지털 기반 교육을 강화해 왔으며, 이번 수상은 그 정책 효과를 보여주는 사례로 평가된다.
인천시교육청 관계자는 “학생들이 데이터를 기반으로 교육 문제를 분석하고 해결 방안을 제시한 경험은 미래 사회를 이끌어갈 큰 자산이 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 AI·데이터 기반 융합 교육을 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

또한, 인천시교육청이 10일, 여름방학을 맞아 초등학생 대상 자기주도 학습 프로그램 ‘읽걷쓰, 나에게 온(ON) 방학’을 운영한다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 캠프는 초등학교 4~6학년 학생 240명을 대상으로 온라인 학급 형태로 진행하며, 줌(ZOOM), 유튜브, 패들렛 등 디지털 플랫폼을 활용한 쌍방향 수업으로 운영된다.
학생들에게는 교재와 학습꾸러미가 제공되며, 4학년은 ‘우리집 물도둑을 잡아라’,‘ 라면을 먹으면 숲이 사라져’ 등을 읽고 환경 문제를 시각화해 표현하고, 5학년은 ‘나이살이’, ‘국경일에 숨은 우리나라 역사 이야기’ 등을 통해 전통 의례와 국경일의 의미를 탐색하며 미니북을 제작한다.
6학년은 ‘지켜보고 있다! 너의 디지털 발자국’을 바탕으로 디지털 시민성과 윤리에 대해 캠페인 콘텐츠를 제작하며 실천 역량을 기른다.
인천시교육청 관계자는 “아이들이 스스로 질문하고 관찰하며 사회적 의미를 찾아가는 배움의 과정에 중점을 뒀다”며 “방학이 성장의 기회가 되도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
이번 캠프는 7월 29일부터 8월 9일까지 진행되며, 종료 후에는 참여자 대상 효과 분석과 발전 방안이 논의될 예정이다.
인천시교육청은 이를 바탕으로 방학 중에도 초등학생들의 기초학습역량을 체계적으로 지원할 수 있는 모델을 지속 개발할 계획이다.
