충남 부여군(군수 박정현)이 ‘2025 부여군 우수정원 콘테스트 – 부여 정원백서(庭園白書)’ 수상작 6곳을 최종 선정했다고 10일 밝혔다.
주택, 상가, 공동체가 직접 가꾼 정원을 대상으로 이뤄진 이번 콘테스트는 군민의 자발적 참여를 통해 정원문화를 확산하고, 지역의 새로운 관광자원을 발굴하기 위한 취지로 기획됐다.
공모는 지난 5월 12일부터 6월 20일까지 40일간 진행됐으며, 총 24개 정원이 접수됐다. 유형별로는 주택형 16개소, 상가형 5개소, 공동체형 3개소로, 전문가들로 구성된 심사위원단의 서류심사와 현장실사를 거쳐 부문별 수상작 6곳이 최종 선정됐다.
주택형 부문에서는 부여읍의 ‘매향원’과 세도면의 ‘수리재’가 선정됐으며, 상가형 부문에서는 ‘내뜰’(임천면), ‘수북로1945 치유정원’(규암면), ‘금반향’(외산면) 등 3개소가 이름을 올렸다. 공동체형 부문에서는 부여읍에 위치한 ‘도심정원’이 유일하게 수상작으로 뽑혔다.
심사 기준은 정원 기획의 적정성과 디자인 창의성, 지역성과 생태적 지속가능성에 초점을 맞췄으며, 현장 평가에서는 주제 적합성, 조화와 균형, 식물 생육 상태, 유지·관리 수준, 대중성과 관광 활용 가능성 등이 종합적으로 고려됐다.

부여군은 오는 10월 초 시상식을 열고, 수상자에게 각각 상금 50만 원과 함께 ‘우수정원 인증 명패’를 수여할 계획이다. 더불어 수상자들은 10월 3일부터 12일까지 열리는 ‘2025 백제문화제’ 기간 동안 정원 조성 체험 프로그램에 참여해 관람객들과 정원문화를 공유하게 된다.
군 관계자는 “이번 콘테스트를 통해 부여군 곳곳에 숨어있는 아름다운 정원들을 발굴할 수 있어 매우 뜻깊었다”며, “앞으로도 정원문화 확산을 통해 주민들의 삶의 질 향상과 관광자원 개발에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
