(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 부평구가 15일 구청에서 올해 신규 위촉된 명예사회복지공무원을 대상으로 역량강화 교육을 진행했다고 밝혔다.
부평구에 따르면, 명예사회복지공무원은 지역 내 도움이 필요한 위기가구를 발굴·지원하는 활동에 자발적으로 참여하는 무보수·명예직 지역주민으로 이뤄져 있다.
앞서 부평구는 생활업종 종사자 등 총 81명의 명예사회복지공무원을 새롭게 위촉했다. 위촉된 이들 중 41명이 참석한 이날 교육은 주민 중심의 복지안전망을 구축할 수 있도록 역량을 높이기 위해 마련됐다.
이정구 부평구지역사회보장협의체 사무국장이 강사로 나서 명예사회복지공무원의 역할과 필요성, 복지사각지대 발굴 요령, 사례 중심의 대응 방안 등을 주제로 실질적인 현장 활동 역량 향상에 중점을 둔 교육을 진행했다.
부평구는 교육 미참석자 및 기존 위촉자들을 위한 추가 교육과 지속적인 활동 지원을 이어갈 계획이다.
이를 통해 지역 곳곳에서 활동하는 명예사회복지공무원이 이웃의 작은 변화에도 관심을 갖고, 민관이 함께 협력하는 주민 중심의 복지공동체를 더욱 강화하는 데 힘쓸 예정이다.
부평구 관계자는 “명예사회복지공무원은 복지현장의 최일선에서 위기가구를 조기에 발견하고 신속히 지원할 수 있도록 돕는 중요한 역할을 한다”며 “앞으로도 주민이 중심이 되는 지역복지 실현을 위해 더욱 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.
