(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 부평구가 16일, 인천 최초로 ‘반려동물 전문인력 양성과정’을 진행한다고 밝혔다.
부평구에 따르면, 이 교육과정은 구가 신한은행 부평구청지점 및 경인여자대학교 반려동물보건학과와 협력하는 사회공헌사업으로, 취업과 연계된다.
세 기관은 최근 반려동물 산업 구조가 다양한 전문 서비스로 빠르게 분화함에 따라 전문 인력의 수요가 높아지는 상황에 대응하고자, 산업체가 요구하는 사항을 반영해 실무 중심의 직업 훈련 방안을 계획했다.
교육 분야는 총 5개로 반려견 위생미용, 반려견 훈련, 반려묘의 이해, 반려동물 재활, 반려견 운동 프로그램(독피트니스)로 구성됐다.
교육생들은 오는 8월 4일부터 8주간 교육을 받게 되며, 이론 교육(4주) 후 각자가 선호하는 산업현장에서 실습 교육(4주)을 받게 될 예정이다.
이번 교육을 통해 교육생들은 산업체가 요구하는 역량을 기르게 되며, 실습 종료 후 실제 채용될 수도 있다.
반려동물 업종 취업을 희망하는 부평 거주 청년(만19세~39세)이라면 오는 21일부터 30일까지 포스터 내 큐알(QR)코드로 참여 신청할 수 있으며 면접을 거쳐 총 20명이 선발될 예정이다.
교육생 선발 등 교육과정의 운영 전반은 경인여자대학교 반려동물보건학과 측에서 진행한다.
부평구 관계자는 “이번 교육과정을 통해 ‘교육-실습-취업 연계형 체계’를 구축하고, 지역 내 일자리 창출을 실현함과 동시에 반려동물 서비스 품질 향상을 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편, 부평구와 신한은행은 지역 내 일자리 창출 및 지역사회 기여를 위한 민관 협력 기업연계 사회공헌사업을 계속 추진할 예정이다.
