충남 서천군이 16일부터 17일 새벽까지 이어진 기록적인 폭우로 인해 주택 침수와 주민 대피 등 심각한 피해를 입었다. 특히 서면과 비인면 일대를 중심으로 극한강우가 집중되면서 군은 긴급 대응체계에 돌입해 피해 수습에 총력을 기울이고 있다.
서천군에 따르면 17일 오전 5시 기준, 지역 평균 강수량은 145mm에 달했으며, 서면 춘장대는 무려 305mm를 기록해 관내에서 가장 많은 비가 내린 지역으로 나타났다. 비인면 역시 누적 강수량 246mm, 최대 시우량 98.5mm(16일 오후 11시 기준)를 기록하며 순식간에 도로와 주택이 물에 잠겼다. 판교면도 254mm에 달하는 비가 내렸다.
