【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=여름방학을 맞아 전국 대학생 70여 명이 인공지능(AI) 전문가를 향한 도전에 나섰다.
영진전문대학교는 지난 14일부터 오는 18일까지 경북 칠곡 글로벌캠퍼스에서 '2025 인공지능 혁신융합대학 여름방학 AI캠프'를 열고 있다고 17일 밝혔다.
이번 캠프는 교육부 '첨단분야 혁신융합대학 사업'의 일환으로, 인공지능혁신융합대학 컨소시엄(AI COSS) 소속 대학과 공동활용대학 등 8개 대학 학생들이 참여했다. 참가 대학은 ▲영진전문대 ▲전남대 ▲경북대 ▲성균관대 ▲서울시립대 ▲계명대 ▲영남이공대 ▲한양여대이며, 학생들은 총 18개 팀으로 나뉘어 프로젝트를 수행 중이다.
올해로 4회째를 맞은 AI캠프는 조립형 교육 모듈인 '모디 마스터키트'를 활용한 실습으로 구성됐다. AI 기초 이론은 물론, 창의적 문제 해결력과 협업 능력도 함께 키울 수 있도록 기획됐다.
또한 AI COSS사업단이 개발한 'AI 기초 실습' 비교과 프로그램도 함께 운영되며, 참여 대학 간 학점 교류 기반 마련에도 기여하고 있다. 교수와 연구원들이 현장에서 실습을 지도하며 향후 AI 인재 양성을 위한 협력 방안도 논의하고 있다.
김종규 영진전문대 AI COSS사업단장은 "무더위 속에서도 학생들의 열정이 대단하다"며 "이번 캠프가 인공지능 교육 확산과 인재 교류의 계기가 되길 바란다"고 밝혔다.
영진전문대 컴퓨터정보계열 1학년 박지성 학생은 “여러 학교 학생들과 협업하고 소통하며 팀 프로젝트를 완성해가는 경험이 기대 이상으로 유익했다”고 전했다.
캠프 마지막 날인 18일에는 팀별 프로젝트 결과 발표와 평가가 진행되며, 우수 팀 10곳에는 금상·은상·우수상·동상 등 총 460만 원 상당의 장학금이 수여될 예정이다.

The AI Camp, which is in its 4th year this year, consists of practical training using the 'Modi Master Kit', an assembly-type educational module. It was designed to foster not only basic AI theory but also creative problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Also, the 'AI Basic Practice' extracurricular program developed by the AI COSS division is also operated, contributing to establishing a foundation for credit exchange between participating universities. Professors and researchers are guiding practical training on site and discussing future cooperation plans for fostering AI talent.
Kim Jong-gyu, head of the AI COSS division at Yeungjin College, said, "The students' passion is amazing even in the hot weather," and "I hope this camp will become an opportunity for the spread of AI education and talent exchange."
Park Ji-seong, a first-year student in the computer information department at Yeungjin College, said, "The experience of collaborating and communicating with students from various schools and completing a team project was more beneficial than expected."
On the last day of the camp, the 18th, the team project results will be announced and evaluated, and a total of 4.6 million won in scholarships will be awarded to the 10 best teams, including gold, silver, excellence, and bronze medals.
