(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 중부지방해양경찰청이 22일, 2025년 상반기 해양오염사고가 총 29건 발생하고, 유출량은 5.06㎘, 관련 신고는 203건 접수됐다고 밝혔다.
중부해경청에 띠르면, 올해는 전년대비 오염물질이 1㎘이상 유출된 사고가 신규 1건 발생했고, 100ℓ이상 사고도 8건에서 11건으로 3건 증가하면서 유출량이 다소 늘어난 것으로 분석된다.
오염물질은 중질유가 2.61㎘로 절반 이상을 차지했으며, 경유·선저폐수 등도 일부 포함됐고, 오염원은 어선(15건, 52%)과 일반화물선(6건, 21%)이 대부분을 차지했다.
사고가 가장 많이 발생한 권역은 인천(11건, 38%), 다음은 평택(10건, 35%), 보령(7건, 24%), 태안(1건, 3%) 순이며, 유출량 또한 인천이 1.94㎘로 가장 높았다.
주요 발생 원인으로는 작업중 부주의(12건, 41%)가 가장 큰 비중을 차지했으며, 해난사고, 파손 등이 뒤를 이었다.
중부해경청은 해양오염 이전 단계에서의 선제적 대응 강화를 위해 상반기 중 해양오염 위해사고 51건 중 44건(86%)에 대해 선제적으로 배출방지조치를 수행했다.
