충남 태안 신진항에서 조업을 마치고 돌아오던 중 선상에서 실종된 70대 선원이 수색 10시간 만에 숨진 채 발견됐다.
태안해양경찰서는 22일 오전 어선에서 실종된 선원 A씨(70대·남)가 이날 오후 해안가에서 사망한 상태로 발견됐다고 밝혔다.
태안해경에 따르면, 이날 오전 5시 7분께 태안군 근흥면 신진항으로 입항하던 30톤급 어선 B호의 선원이 “동료 A씨가 보이지 않는다”며 실종 신고를 접수했다. B호에는 총 3명이 승선하고 있었으며, A씨는 조업을 마친 후 선상에서 사라진 것으로 알려졌다.
신고를 받은 태안해경은 즉각 신진파출소와 태안구조대, 인근 경비함정 등 가용 인력을 총동원해 수색에 나섰다. 수색은 해상뿐 아니라 항포구 인근 해안가를 중심으로 전방위적으로 이뤄졌다.
약 10시간이 지난 오후 3시경, 지역 주민이 신진항 부근 해안가에서 A씨를 발견해 해경에 신고했고, 현장에 출동한 구조대가 A씨를 확인했을 당시 그는 이미 숨진 상태였다.
