충남 예산소방서 의용소방대 연합회(회장 이규석, 여성회장 김경애)가 집중호우로 큰 피해를 입은 예산군 대흥면 손지리 일원에서 대대적인 수해 복구 작업에 나섰다.
23일 의용소방대에 따르면, 이번 복구 활동에는 남녀 대원 100여 명이 투입되어 주택 침수 피해 가구를 중심으로 오염된 내부 청소와 가재도구 폐기, 쓰레기 수거, 비닐하우스 잔해 정리 등 전방위적인 지원이 이뤄졌다.
특히 침수 피해가 극심했던 고령자 거주지와 농가 등 사회적 취약계층을 우선적으로 지원 대상으로 선정하고, 신속한 일상 회복을 위해 중장비와 살수차를 적극 활용했다. 흙더미가 가득 쌓인 비닐하우스는 물을 뿌려 오염물을 씻어낸 뒤, 무너진 구조물을 정비하며 복구를 마무리했다.
현장을 찾은 최재구 예산군수는 “의용소방대의 발 빠른 복구 지원은 큰 상처를 입은 군민들에게 실질적인 위로와 희망이 됐다”며 “앞으로도 민·관이 함께 협력하여 주민의 생명과 안전을 지키는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
