【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=경북도의회 한창화 의원(포항시 제1선거구, 국민의힘)이 영일만항 일반산단지역 하천에서 발생하는 부유물(거품)이 인근 공장의 폐수정화과정에서 생성된 부유물일 가능성이 있다고 지적했다.

한 의원은 23일 페이스북을 통해 “영일만항 일반산단지역에서 흘러나오는 부유물(거품)이 눈에 거슬린다. 수많은 민원에 조사를 수차례 수년에 걸쳐 의뢰 했지만 결론은 지역특성상 토질의 문제로 귀결되고 환경상 문제가 없다고 하지만 주민들은 아직도 믿지 않고 있다.” 며 “환경적, 기술적 검토를 거쳐 주민들에게 의혹을 불식시키는 공식적인 설명이 필요하다.”고 말했다.
이어 “포항을 찾는 관광객 또는 방문객에게 시각적으로 불필요한 오해를 줄 수 있는 부유물이 바다로 들어가지 않도록 차단 할 필요가 있다.”고 했다.
특히, “콘크리트 관로를 통해 내려오는 정화수가 갑자기 바닷물과 만나 부유물이 생성된다는건 이해할 수 없다. 우수도 관로를 통해 나오지만ᆢ 그렇지 않다.”며 “(인근 공장의)혹시 폐수정화 과정에서발생 하는 부유물이 아닌가 하는 합리적 의심도 든다.”며 의혹을 제기했다.
그러면서 “가장 우선 적으로 부유물의 사전제거와 차단 조치가 선행되고 난 뒤 환경적으로 영향을 주는 요인이 있다면 주민들께 알리고 조속한 대책을 마련해야 한다.”고 강조했다.
