(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 서구가 28일, 2026년 7월 1일 검단구 출범을 1년여 앞두고 지난 25일 검단복지회관에서 검단지역 주민설명회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
서구에 따르면, 구와 인천시가 공동 주최하여 검단구 출범에 따른 행정체제 개편 사항에 대한 주민들의 이해를 높이고 지역 주민 의견 청취를 위한 소통의 장으로 마련됐다.
서구는 앞서 6월에도 총 4차례에 걸쳐 검단구와 분리되는 서구지역 16개 동 주민들을 대상으로 새로운 서구·검단구 출범에 대한 권역별 주민설명회를 개최한 바 있다.
이번에는 검단지역 7개동 주민들에게 행정체제 개편, 검단구 임시청사 추진 사항, 아라동 분동 등의 지역 내 주요 현안 등을 설명하고 참석자 질의응답 및 의견수렴 시간을 가졌다.
서구 관계자는 “성공적인 검단구 출범에 대한 성실한 이행을 다짐하며 인천광역시 분구추진개편단 및 유관기관과 긴밀하게 협력하여 검단지역 주민들의 삶의 질이 향상될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
